TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

Most of CANARI’s work focuses on independent research and associated activities, supported by grant funding. However, CANARI also plays an important role in assisting organisations and institutions, both within the
the region and internationally, by providing short-term technical assistance on projects which are complementary to the Institute’s mission and contribute to its strategic objectives.

The range of technical assistance services provided has been quite broad and includes:

  • facilitation of participatory policy development processes;
  • facilitation of organisational strategic planning exercises;
  • facilitation of participatory protected area planning;
  • development of communication products
  • capacity building, both through workshops and with individual organisations or institutions.

There is a clear need within the Caribbean region for a more integrated and collaborative approach to policy research and capacity building related to natural resource management and development. CANARI therefore welcomes the opportunity to partner with other organisations whose work can contribute to its strategic vision for the region.
